Any paper test involving "screening" mental illness is totally inappropriate by itself, it should be combined with a conversation with a specialist.
A specialist in what? The whole thing is bogus. It's just a bunch of made-up "science". Show me some real people these quacks have cured and I'll gladly withdraw the above statements.
But your comment is really well written. You make it appear as if the problem is just that the screening process is not being done right and so therefore if it were, it would be legitimate scientifically. It sounds so right--just enough that someone reading it might say "well sure, that sounds sensible, there should be a specialist there..."
It is not legitimate, however. Teenscreen and any other program like it is nothing more than a bunch of quackery geared toward getting more kids on those addictive, mind-altering drugs. Anything else is lies foisted on the parents of America by people with ties to the pharma companies which are profiting from these programs--on the backs of our children.
If you're going to be a shill, at least make it for a solution that gets real, beneficial results.
